The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is currently preparing a report on security of supply, which will define the key policies for its development until 2030.

10.5.2021 | The coronavirus epidemic has weakened the economic and employment prospects in the regions for more than a year, but the outlook is now cautiously positive. The improved expectations are driven by the assumption of a swift rollout of COVID-19 vaccine, an improving epidemiological situation and the lifting of restrictions. 

16.9.2021 | County elections will be held on Sunday 23 January 2022. The new wellbeing services counties will constitute the electoral districts for the county elections. In these elections, the members and deputy members of county councils will be elected in each wellbeing services county. No county elections will be conducted in Helsinki.

7.10.2021 | Restrictions on entry will be lifted for residents of Kuwait in traffic arriving in Finland from Kuwait. The Government adopted a decision on the matter on 7 October and the decision will enter into force on 11 October. No other changes will be introduced to the restrictions. The existing restrictions on entry at external borders will be extended until 24 October. However, people may still enter Finland from all countries upon presenting an approved certificate of a full course of vaccination.

12.5.2022 | The Open Government Working Group will meet in Helsinki on 12-13 May. In addition to holding the meeting, the working group will be introduced to Finland’s open administration practices, such as national dialogues and the OpenProcurement.fi and exploreadministration.fi services.

19.5.2021 | The advance voting period for the 2021 municipal elections will begin in Finland on Wednesday 26 May and last for two weeks. The final day for advance voting is Tuesday 8 June.
