  2. Tighter restrictions on restaurants and other food and beverage service businesses in several regions due to COVID-19 - Finnish Government

    3.12.2020 | Starting from 5 December, restaurants and other food and beverage service businesses in the regions of Kanta-Häme, Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso and North Ostrobothnia, which are in the community transmission phase, will be subject to the same restrictions as those already in force in Uusimaa. Restrictions will also be tightened in areas entering the acceleration phase. The government decree on the matter will enter into force on 5 December at 00.00.

    12.8.2021 | A few changes will be made to the restrictions on entry at external borders based on current incidence rates. The Government adopted a decision on the matter on 12 August and the decision will enter into force on 16 August. However, people may still enter Finland from all countries upon presenting an approved certificate of a full vaccine course.

  10. State of emergency and use of powers under Emergency Powers Act to end on 27 April - Finnish Government

    27.4.2021 | In its plenary session on Tuesday 27 April, the Government issued decrees repealing the use of powers under the Emergency Powers Act and declared that the current situation in the country no longer constitutes a state of emergency under section 3 of the Emergency Powers Act. In the Government’s view, the COVID-19 epidemic can now be managed using the regular powers of the authorities.
